Chattanooga Hotel Room Assault Incident

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A Chattanooga man faces multiple charges, including aggravated kidnapping and false imprisonment, after a violent altercation in a hotel room on Friday night. Andre Samuel, 37, was arrested following an incident where he allegedly assaulted a woman and threatened her son.

According to Chattanooga Police, the situation escalated during an argument in a hotel room on Shallowford Village Drive, leading Samuel to assault the woman over several hours. At one point, he reportedly held a knife to her throat and strangled her until she lost consciousness.

The woman, who is not named in police reports, had known Samuel for five years prior to this incident. In a chilling detail provided to the police, Samuel allegedly asked her son, “Do you want to see a dead body?” during the confrontation.

The victim was eventually able to escape the hotel with her son after asking Samuel for fresh air. Once outside, she contacted a nearby individual who assisted her and reported the incident to the authorities. Officers arrived at the hotel and found Samuel still in the room, leading to his arrest.

Samuel has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, related to his actions against the woman, and false imprisonment involving her son. Additionally, he faces charges for interference with 911 calls.

The incident has highlighted ongoing concerns regarding domestic violence and safety within the community. Local advocates stress the importance of recognizing the signs of domestic violence and encourage victims to seek help.

“This case is a sobering reminder of the dangers many face in their homes,” said a spokesperson for a local domestic violence organization. “It’s crucial for communities to come together and provide support for victims and raise awareness about available resources.”

Samuel has been transported to the Hamilton County Jail, where he awaits arraignment. The community is left reeling from the shocking details of the event and the implications it holds for domestic safety.
