The announcement came via a press release on Wednesday, signaling the continuation of a story that captured the hearts of many fans since the original movie debuted in 2008.
In this new film, Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas will reprise their roles as Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray of the fictional band Connect 3. Alongside them will be Demi Lovato, who portrayed Mitchie Torres in the first two films, as a co-executive producer.
Nick Jonas expressed excitement in a video shared by Disney+, stating, “It’s time to head back to camp.” Clips from the production set featured the brothers gearing up for the project, with the video confirming that filming has officially begun.
Disney’s press release outlined that the storyline for “Camp Rock 3” begins when Connect 3 loses their opening act for a major reunion tour, prompting them to return to Camp Rock to discover new talent. Both previous films have achieved significant success, with the first one attracting over eight million viewers on its premiere night and ranking as the third-most-watched Disney Channel Original Movie.
Directed by Veronica Rodriguez from a script by Eydie Faye, the film will also feature Tim Federle, creator of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” as an executive producer. Choreography will be led by Jamal Sims.
Demi Lovato shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “Another one but make it camp!! good luck to this next class of campers.” Meanwhile, the Jonas Brothers have been seen lip-synching to lines from the original movies while on set, further engaging fans in the nostalgia.
