Salt Lake City, UtahEric Trump announced on Friday that he will donate a portion of sales from his upcoming memoir, “Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation,” to Turning Point USA, a nonprofit founded by the late Charlie Kirk. This decision follows the tragic shooting death of Kirk, who was 31, at Utah Valley University earlier in the week.

Trump described Kirk as a “great friend and an amazing person” in a social media post. He made the announcement shortly after authorities apprehended Tyler Robinson, the main suspect in the case, concluding a 33-hour manhunt.

“Like all of you, I have been deeply impacted by Charlie’s life. His story is not over. This movement is not over,” Trump wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “In honor of Charlie’s life and his incredible legacy, I will be donating a portion of the proceeds from Under Siege to Turning Point USA to continue their amazing work. May God bless Charlie, his wife Erika, and their children, and may God bless the United States of America.” The memoir is set for release in October and retails for approximately $27.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed that Robinson, who lived in Washington County, was turned in by a family member after admitting to the shooting. Cox stated that Robinson acted alone, and he was not a student at the university. This incident has reignited discussions on political violence in the U.S.

Charlie Kirk had been a significant figure in conservative politics, mobilizing young voters for Donald Trump‘s campaigns. He founded Turning Point USA in 2012 and became known for his advocacy of conservative values on college campuses. His sudden death has drawn condolences from various political figures, including President Trump, who expressed deep admiration for him.

As tributes pour in, questions about the future of Turning Point USA, which Kirk helped build into a powerful political organization, arise. The organization has grown under Kirk’s leadership, but his death leaves a notable void in conservative circles.
