FIFA Club World Cup: Knockout Stage Teams Set After Group Matches

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The FIFA Club World Cup is moving into the knockout stage after the final group games concluded on June 26. The top two teams from each of the eight groups have advanced, while the bottom two teams are eliminated.
This year’s tournament format dictates that teams tied on points will be ranked based on their head-to-head records before considering goal difference. If teams still cannot be separated, several criteria—including goals scored and conduct scores—will be assessed.
In Group A, Palmeiras finished first after a 2-2 draw with Inter Miami, which also advanced in second place. Porto and Al Ahly were eliminated following a thrilling 4-4 tie. In Group B, Paris Saint-Germain dominated to win, while Botafogo also qualified. Atletico Madrid and Seattle Sounders were both sent home.
Group C saw Benfica emerge victorious, while Bayern Munich secured the second spot. Boca Juniors and Auckland City were eliminated. In Group D, Flamengo claimed the top position, with Chelsea also progressing after a tight battle.
Group E saw Inter qualify, finishing above Monterrey, who also advanced. River Plate and Urawa Red Diamonds are out. Borussia Dortmund topped Group F, followed closely by Fluminense, while Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan HD were knocked out.
Juventus and Manchester City, both from Group G, have progressed, with their match on June 26 determining the group winner. Real Madrid and Red Bull Salzburg are in a tight spot in Group H, with Al Hilal also vying for a knockout slot with their final game against Pachuca coming up.
The knockout matches are set to begin soon, with fans eagerly anticipating which teams will triumph in the next stage of the tournament.
