Lisbon, Portugal — Coach Roberto Martínez made a last-minute change to Portugal’s roster for upcoming matches against Armenia and Hungary. Diogo Dalot was replaced by Nuno Tavares due to muscle discomfort. Despite his injury, Dalot was present at the Cidade do Futebol this morning with other players.

Ahead of the game against Armenia, midfielder Vitinha emphasized the significance of every point, noting that the qualification phase for the championship consists of only six matches.

In other football news, Moreirense has the opportunity to isolate themselves at the top of the Primeira Liga today. They will visit ‘neighbor’ Gil Vicente to open the fourth round of the league. Moreirense currently holds the third position with nine points from three victories.

If they secure a point in Barcelos, Moreirense could lead the league until Saturday’s classic match between Sporting and FC Porto. A win would potentially allow Moreirense to finish the round in first place, depending on the outcome of the match at Estádio José Alvalade.

Meanwhile, Gil Vicente, currently seventh with four points, has experienced all three results in the league so far, having won against Nacional, lost to FC Porto, and drawn with Famalicão.

In a related note, central defender Lagerbielke has been injured while playing for the Swedish national team. He is expected to miss two to three weeks, affecting Sporting de Braga‘s lineup for upcoming matches.

Lagerbielke, 25, is one of the most utilized players by Braga coach Carlos Vicens. The player sustained a muscle injury during training with the Swedish team as they prepare for World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Slovenia and Kosovo.

Due to his injury, Lagerbielke has been released from the national team and will return to Braga for treatment, missing at least the next league match on September 14, where Braga will host Gil Vicente.
