Trump’s Approval Ratings Stable Amid Economic Concerns
WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump‘s approval ratings have remained stable since July, even as concerns about his handling of the economy persist, according to a recent poll by A. Just 39 percent of voters approve of his economic policies.
In contrast, Trump sees higher approval ratings in other areas, such as border security, where 57 percent of voters support his approach, and immigration, which stands at 47 percent approval. These numbers have not changed since the president ordered a surge of National Guard troops to Washington D.C.
Polling can often present a wide range of support for issues because of the different methods used and the timing of surveys. Polls usually aim for accuracy within a couple of percentage points, making it important to consider averages over time for clarity on shifts in public opinion.
Both of Trump’s presidential terms have started with low approval ratings. However, his current term received slightly better reviews than his first. He began this term with a net approval rating lower than any president since Bill Clinton.
Historically, several recent presidents have faced negative approval ratings within the first six months of their terms, including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. Despite these challenges, Trump’s support remains steady, particularly in areas like immigration and border security.
