TOKYO, Japan — ZIPAIR announced on February 26 that it will increase flight frequency on its Narita-Vancouver and Narita-San Jose routes. The decision comes in response to a surge in travel demand and will allow both routes to operate six flights per week, up from the current five.

The additional flights will be available between May 6 and August 14, with Tokyo-based ZIPAIR adding one extra service per week on each route. The Narita-Vancouver route will have flights operating on Thursdays, while the Narita-San Jose route will see an increase on Tuesdays.

The schedule for the added Vancouver flights includes ZG22 departing Narita at 3:40 p.m. and arriving in Vancouver at 8:15 a.m. the following day. The return flight, ZG21, will leave Vancouver at 10:15 a.m. and reach Narita at 12:25 p.m. the following day. For the San Jose route, ZG30 will depart Narita at 3:50 p.m. and arrive in San Jose at 9:05 a.m., with the return leg, ZG29, taking off at 11:05 a.m. and landing back in Narita at 2:15 p.m. the next day.

Both routes will be serviced by Boeing 787-8 aircraft, featuring a total of 290 seats divided into two classes. The ZIP Full-Flat class will have 18 seats, while Standard Economy will offer 272 seats. One-way fares from Narita are priced starting at ¥33,775 for Standard on the Vancouver route and ¥154,400 for ZIP Full-Flat. Prices for the San Jose route start at ¥48,750 for Standard and ¥208,000 for ZIP Full-Flat. Additionally, children under six years old can travel at a flat rate of ¥10,000.

No fuel surcharges will be applied, but passengers should anticipate extra costs for airport facility use charges and taxes. ZIPAIR operates nine international routes from Narita, connecting to cities such as Bangkok, Seoul, Honolulu, Singapore, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Manila, and Vancouver, with Houston to be added starting March 4.

The planned schedule changes are intended to meet the strong travel demand, reflecting ZIPAIR’s position in the competitive mid-distance low-cost carrier market.
