England Captain Harry Kane Joins School Lesson To Discuss Mental Health

English football captain, Harry Kane, surprised pupils at a local school by joining them online for a lesson on mental health during Children’s Mental Health Week. Kane, who recently made a move from Tottenham Hotspur to Germany’s Bayern Munich, is already breaking goal records and is regarded as one of the finest strikers of his generation. During the session, he spoke about resilience and the importance of discussing one’s feelings.

Kane shared his personal journey, highlighting the setbacks he faced in his early career, which included being released by clubs, going out on loan, and being dropped to the bench during periods of poor performance. However, he emphasized that these challenges played a crucial role in building his strength, self-belief, and resilience.

Throughout stressful times, Kane revealed that talking to his family helped him to unload and focus on his goals, allowing him to work harder and become the player he is today. He emphasized that everyone experiences ups and downs in life, and it’s essential to develop strategies to navigate through challenging moments.

Fueled by his personal experiences, Kane, along with his wife Kate, established the Harry Kane Foundation last year. The foundation aims to support young people and shed light on mental health issues. Recognizing the impact of social media and online platforms on mental health, Kane stressed the significance of openly discussing emotions and seeking help.

As a role model for many young boys and girls, Kane understands the influence he holds and aims to give back to the community. Through his foundation, he hopes to inspire and assist young people in their mental health journeys, helping them develop lifelong coping mechanisms.
