The Mandalorian Grogu Trailer Release

HOLLYWOOD, California — Lucasfilm unveiled the first trailer for the new film ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu‘ on Monday. The highly anticipated movie will hit theaters on May 22, 2026, continuing the story of the beloved duo from the Disney+ series.

The trailer features action-packed scenes, including Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and his young apprentice Grogu, voiced by himself. Fans can expect to see explosive battles with AT-ATs and underground gladiatorial combat.

Among the new characters is Sigourney Weaver, who will make her Star Wars debut. Details about her role remain under wraps, but her character is seen in the trailer. Additionally, Jeremy Allen White lends his voice to Rotta the Hutt, adding to the excitement.

Zeb Orrelios, a character known from ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ also returns. In the trailer, he appears to engage in a fight, adding more familiar faces to the mix. The film connects to other Star Wars series and is set to bridge narratives from ‘Ahsoka‘ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett.’

Jon Favreau directs ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu,’ which he co-wrote with Dave Filoni. Ludwig Göransson will score the film, continuing his work from the series.

The plot reveals that after the fall of the evil Empire, Din Djarin and Grogu embark on a new adventure to protect the Rebellion’s legacy under the fledgling New Republic.
