LOS ANGELES, CA – Apple TV announced a premiere date and first look for the second season of its hit thriller series “Hijack,” starring and executive produced by Idris Elba. The eight-episode season will launch globally on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with the first two episodes released simultaneously, followed by weekly episodes until February 25, 2026.

Season two of “Hijack” will see Elba returning as Sam Nelson, a skilled negotiator embroiled in a crisis involving a hostage situation on a Berlin underground train. As authorities race to save the passengers, Nelson must navigate perilous decisions that could determine life or death for those aboard.

Created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, the show also features a lineup of returning cast members such as Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi. New additions to the ensemble include Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams, and Christiane Paul.

“Hijack” gained widespread acclaim during its first season, receiving a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and landing in Nielsen’s Streaming Originals Top 10 list. Critics praised the series as tension-filled and gripping, highlighting Elba’s portrayal of the lead character.

Elba’s strong performance as a commanding lead earned him an Emmy Award nomination, and excitement for the upcoming season remains high among fans and critics alike.
