Kate Middleton and Melania Trump Unite for State Visit at Windsor

WINDSOR, England — Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, made a rare joint appearance on September 18, 2025, during President Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK. The two met at Frogmore Gardens in Windsor Castle, where they engaged with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and a group of young scouts as they worked towards their “Go Wild” badge.
Kate, who serves as a copresident of the Scout Association, wore an olive green suede jacket and sweater vest, complemented by a brown pleated skirt and boots. Melania chosen a tan suede cargo jacket paired with light-colored trousers, marking their first official joint engagement and photo opportunity.
The meeting followed a state dinner hosted by the Royal Family the previous night, which included both the Trumps and other dignitaries. This visit marks a significant focus on royal engagements for Melania, who has participated in several excursions, including a tour of the Royal Library and a visit to Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House.
Kate, the mother of three—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—recently resumed her royal duties after a period away due to her cancer diagnosis. Upon returning, she has spoken candidly about her journey, emphasizing the challenges of reclaiming normalcy post-treatment. “Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,” she commented during a hospital visit in July.
During the outing with Melania, Kate expressed empathy towards cancer survivors, urging them to take time to find their new normal, stating, “It’s a rollercoaster, it’s not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times.”
This joint appearance highlights the ongoing collaboration between the British royals and American leaders, symbolizing a shared commitment to youth development and public service.
