Protest Group Claims Responsibility for Trump-Epstein Projection at Windsor Castle
WINDSOR, England — A political campaign group known as Led By Donkeys stated that they were responsible for projecting images of Donald Trump alongside Jeffrey Epstein onto Windsor Castle on Tuesday. The stunt, which aimed to draw attention to the controversial relationship between the two men, was accompanied by a soundtrack raising questions about their ties.
Led By Donkeys confirmed their involvement after the police arrested four men for so-called malicious communications related to the unauthorized projection at the historic site. They described the arrest as “Orwellian” and “ridiculous.” The group’s spokesperson expressed frustration, saying, “This is the first time any of us have been arrested for a projection.”
In addition to the images, the group projected a letter Trump allegedly sent to Epstein, along with photos of Epstein’s victims and various news clips about their connections. The spokesperson criticized the police response, pointing out that their previous projections had occurred without incident.
The police categorized the projection as a public stunt and confirmed that the four men remained in custody for questioning. The spokesperson remarked, “We’ve done about 25 or 30 projections before, and the police usually just have a chat and leave us alone.”
The protest was described as much like the story of “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” drawing attention to the absurdity of Trump, who has close ties to Epstein, receiving honor at Windsor Castle while the UK pays for the visit.
Trump’s alleged letter to Epstein has raised eyebrows and came to public attention after being reported by The Wall Street Journal in July. In it, Trump refers to Epstein as a “pal” and wishes “every day be another wonderful secret,” a line that has stirred controversy.
As Trump arrives at Windsor Castle on Wednesday for his second state visit, expected pomp and festivities will unfold, including a meeting with King Charles III and a white-tie state banquet. The visit aims to strengthen the bond between the two countries, with expectations of significant economic collaborations.
The wider anti-Trump protests are also occurring in London, indicating public dissent surrounding his visit. Led By Donkeys and their projection stand out as a stark reminder of ongoing debates about freedom of speech and governmental restrictions in the UK.
