Exciting High School Football Matchups Set for Week 4 in Iowa
DES MOINES, Iowa — As the fourth week of high school football approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating exciting matchups across the state. Week 3 showcased thrilling games, including Class 4A No. 3 North Polk‘s nail-biting 38-37 overtime victory over No. 4 Adel-Desoto-Minburn in Alleman.
This week, key games are set for Friday, Sept. 19. In Class 5A, No. 5 Ankeny is set to face Ankeny Centennial, while three-time defending state champion Southeast Polk, holding the No. 6 ranking, will take on No. 4 Dowling Catholic.
Other notable 5A games include No. 10 Johnston hosting No. 2 Iowa City Liberty, and Waukee playing against No. 3 West Des Moines Valley in a much-anticipated matchup.
In the Des Moines metro area, Des Moines East will host Marshalltown, North will take on Perry, Roosevelt faces Dallas Center-Grimes, and Lincoln travels to Ottumwa.
Additionally, significant games across the state include 4A No. 1 Pella visiting No. 3 North Polk, a rematch of last year’s title game. Other matchups to watch are 3A No. 2 Clear Lake at No. 6 Nevada and 2A No. 2 Woodward-Granger facing No. 5 Van Meter.
For fans wanting to catch all the action, the full schedule lists several games starting at 7 p.m., including Des Moines North vs. Perry, Riceville vs. Northwood-Kensett, and many more.
