The Naked Gun Liam Neeson Comedy

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Paramount Pictures announced that “The Naked Gun,” the highly anticipated sequel, will be available for streaming on Paramount+ starting September 30 in the U.S. and Canada.

This action comedy features Liam Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., who follows in the footsteps of his father, played by the late Leslie Nielsen in the original films. The movie brings back the classic humor of the franchise, which debuted in the 1980s.

“The Naked Gun” hit theaters on August 1 and earned $17 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend. Since then, it has grossed over $100 million worldwide, despite facing competition from other big releases.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer, known for his work with The Lonely Island, the film is produced by Seth MacFarlane‘s Fuzzy Door Productions. The cast includes not only Neeson but also Pamela Anderson, Kevin Durand, CCH Pounder, and Paul Walter Hauser, who plays Drebin’s partner.

In addition to featuring a strong core cast, the film includes exciting cameos from celebrities such as Busta Rhymes, Dave Bautista, and “Weird Al” Yankovic, who were the only actors to reprise their roles from the original films.

Critics have praised the film for its humor and nostalgia. Pete Hammond from Deadline remarked, “This nakedly hilarious Naked Gun is a welcome return in a time where we can use a few good laughs.” The movie focuses on Drebin Jr.’s efforts to lead Police Squad and tackle villains in over-the-top comedic situations.

The film is described as a wild and outrageous comedy, filled with rapid-fire gags and charming silliness that pays homage to its predecessors. Viewers can expect laugh-out-loud moments as the new cast delivers their take on an iconic comedic style.

The Naked Gun will also be released in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 11, along with a variety of bonus content for fans.
