Enzo Zidane Retires from Professional Football at Age 29
Enzo Zidane, the son of renowned football legend Zinedine Zidane, has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 29. This decision marks the end of a decade-long career during which Enzo played in various leagues across Europe.
According to Spanish sports outlet Diario AS, Enzo Zidane has decided to focus on personal matters, particularly his family and investment opportunities. The news was corroborated by sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed Enzo’s retirement through social media, emphasizing his intentions to “focus on private stuff, including his investments.”
Throughout his career, Enzo Zidane made 203 appearances on the field, scoring a total of 13 goals and assisting 24 times. His professional journey included playing for clubs such as Real Madrid Castilla, Alavés, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves, Almeria, and Rodez Aveyron. His career culminated at Fuenlabrada, where he clocked 29 appearances.
One of the highlights of Enzo’s career was during his only appearance for Real Madrid’s senior team, where he scored a memorable goal in a comprehensive 6-1 victory against Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey.
Despite Enzo stepping away from the field, his family’s legacy in football continues. His brothers are actively engaged in the sport. Luca Zidane is the starting goalkeeper for Eibar, Theo Zidane is a midfielder for Córdoba‘s third-tier team, and the youngest, Elyaz Zidane, is part of the Real Betis academy and represents France at the Under-17 level.
