Guardians Mariners Game August 2023

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Guardians look to sweep the Seattle Mariners in their final game of a three-game series at Progressive Field on Sunday. The game is scheduled to start at 1:40 p.m. ET.

Currently, the Guardians (68-66) sit three games behind the Mariners (72-64) for the third American League wild card spot. Cleveland has won the first two games of the series by one run each, intensifying the stakes for this rubber match.

The starting pitchers for the matchup are Tanner Bibee for the Guardians and Bryce Miller for the Mariners. Last week, Bibee pitched a solid game against the Tigers, earning a crucial win for Cleveland.

In the lineup for the Guardians, Steven Kwan will play left field, while José Ramírez will serve as the designated hitter. Kyle Manzardo is scheduled to play first base and Nolan Jones will take over as center fielder. The complete lineup for the Guardians is as follows: Kwan (LF), Daniel Schneemann (2B), Ramírez (DH), Manzardo (1B), Jones (CF), CJ Kayfus (RF), Will Wilson (3B), Brayan Rocchio (SS), and Austin Hedges (C).

The Mariners will counter with a lineup featuring Randy Arozarena (LF), Cal Raleigh (C), Julio Rodríguez (CF), and Josh Naylor (1B). This strong lineup has contributed to the Mariners’ current position in the playoff race.

Fans can watch the game on CLEGuardians.TV or listen on WTAM 1100 AM, WMMS 100.7 FM, and WARF 1350 AM in Spanish.
