Veteran Actor Kanayo O. Kanayo Threatens to Disrupt Film Productions Involving Teen Actress Angel Unigwe

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has made a bold statement, threatening to disrupt any upcoming film productions that involve teenage actress Angel Unigwe. Kanayo accused Unigwe and her mother of breaching contracts during a recent production, leading to disruptions on set.

The legendary actor expressed his frustrations on social media, highlighting the alleged unprofessional behavior of Angel Unigwe’s mother. Kanayo claimed that Unigwe’s mother has a history of causing disruptions on movie sets and not adhering to agreed-upon terms.

During a recent production, Kanayo cited an incident where Angel Unigwe was taken away from the set at 9 pm, despite the contractual agreement specifying that filming was scheduled to continue until midnight. This abrupt departure, according to Kanayo, caused significant challenges for the production team.

Kanayo O. Kanayo emphasized the importance of respecting contracts in the film industry, whether verbal or written. He alleged that Unigwe’s mother’s behavior changes once she receives payment, disregarding the terms of the agreement and causing problems for production crews.

Given the repeated incidents and disruptions caused by Unigwe’s mother, Kanayo O. Kanayo issued a stern warning to all producers. He stated that starting from June 21, 2024, he will personally intervene on any set where Angel Unigwe is involved to ensure that filming does not proceed as planned.

Angel Unigwe, an 18-year-old rising star in Nollywood, has garnered attention for her roles in various movies and television series, including ‘Light in the Dark’, ‘Here Love Lies’, ‘The Olive’, ‘King of Boys’, and ‘Discerning Eyes’. In 2023, Unigwe received the prestigious Trailblazer Award at the AMVCA, solidifying her position in the industry.
