Wrestlepalooza: First WWE Event on ESPN Set for September 20

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — ESPN is set to debut its partnership with WWE by airing Wrestlepalooza, the first-ever WWE Premium Live Event on its streaming service, on September 20, 2025.

This event promises to be a thrilling showcase as WWE stars take the ring at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. John Cena and Brock Lesnar will headline the event in a highly anticipated matchup.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque expressed excitement about the collaboration. “On September 20, WWE and ESPN are coming together for a can’t-miss event to kick off our new partnership,” he said. “The biggest Superstars in WWE. The biggest brand in sports media. Are you ready?”

The evening will feature several key matches, including an Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, and a Mixed Tag Team Match with CM Punk teaming up with AJ Lee to face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.

Other matchups include JOHN CENA going up against BROCK LESNAR, a Women’s World Championship match between IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer, and The Usos facing Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

Cena expressed his eagerness to return to the ring, posting on Instagram, “Like that guy’s sign says, my shorts are stronger than your genes. It’s Saturday. I’m ready for war. You want some! Come get some.”

Wrestlepalooza will be exclusively available to subscribers with an ESPN Unlimited plan via the ESPN App. A rerun of the full event will be accessible shortly after the live show ends. To prepare fans, there will be special pre-show coverage on ESPN, including a Wrestlepalooza Special featuring guest appearances by WWE stars.

The first pre-show airs on September 19, from 3-4 p.m. on ESPN2, followed by a Road to Wrestlepalooza event on September 20, running from 3-5 p.m. on ESPN App and social media platforms, leading into WWE’s official pre-show.
