F1 The Movie to Stream on Apple TV This December

Los Angeles, CA – Apple Original Films announced today that “F1 The Movie,” starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski, will make its global streaming debut on Apple TV on Friday, December 12, 2025. This announcement comes after the film’s record-breaking theatrical run.
Since its wide release on June 27, 2025, “F1 The Movie” has surpassed $629 million at the box office, making it the highest-grossing sports film of all time. It is also the year’s highest-grossing original feature and boasts the biggest opening for a live-action original film in the U.S. over the past five years. Additionally, it marks Brad Pitt’s top-grossing film to date.
The film received an A CinemaScore and holds a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, noted for its authenticity in representing the racing world. The plot centers on Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), once a promising Formula 1 racer whose career was nearly cut short by an accident. Thirty years later, he is approached by former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) to help save a failing Formula 1 team. Sonny will race alongside rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), but must contend with the ghosts of his past as he navigates fierce competition and the quest for redemption.
“F1 The Movie” features a talented supporting cast that includes Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Kim Bodnia. The film was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends, adding to its authenticity. The production team includes Bruckheimer, Kosinski, and seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, among others.
The film’s soundtrack has also made waves, with over 650,000 albums sold and more than one billion streams globally. It currently dominates Billboard’s Top Movie Songs chart with several hit tracks, including Tate McRae’s two-time VMA-nominated song “Just Keep Watching.”
